Behind the Scenes: Interview with Violet Director Jeff Calhoun

1 min read

Tony-nominated director and choreographer Jeff Calhoun is back in Washington this month to direct the musical Violet. Jeff sat down with us to talk about the musical’s rousing score and its story of a young woman’s 1960s pilgrimage to heal a facial scar. Hear what Jeff has to say about the importance of celebrating our individuality and making brave choices, and what presenting Violet at Ford’s Theatre means to him.

Jeff Calhoun is a Ford’s Theatre Associate Artist whose productions include The Civil War, Shenandoah, Big River and the Ford’s Theatre Annual Gala (2009-2012).
