Behind the Scenes: Spelling Bee Director Interview

1 min read

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee captures the awkward moments of six adolescents as they spell their way through a local competition. Director Peter Flynn (1776) is thrilled to return to Ford’s Theatre to direct this Tony-winning musical.

Flynn explains that the show’s spontaneity and genuineness is unique—four audience members are invited onstage to become a part of the spelling bee, thus making each show different. Watch this exclusive interview about the show The New York Times called “Irresistible! Riotously funny!”

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee plays at Ford’s Theatre from March 14 to May 17, 2014.
